Somewhere Out There: from An American Tale There is no more wondrous place to visit than the interior of your own mind. Here, adventures and horrors, humor and beauty live together within the hidden corners and secret caves of your psyche. Thoughts of loves and fears both known and unknown mingle within the fabric of your imagination. Allow your inner self to explore, to search, to discover these rare and exciting places. Here are some of the places my mind wanders when given the freedom to roam!!
I was becoming a different man, one who needed no body, one who consisted only of ideas and of thought. I realized that I was entering a new world, a new and more beautiful world than I had ever known. A world where I could travel at the speed of thought, and see with the perfect sight of my mind; And in that moment I knew I had died. At that same instant, I felt the coldness turn to joy, and the greyness to wondrous pure color. I had entered my new world'. The trees are blossomed and tall, their trunks disappearing into grass that is a perfect green, and you know it would be soft and cool to lie in. On it's surface rests tricycles and sandboxes awaiting the childrens morning return. The air itself is a part of this street, and of you. The whole scene has a thick, rich quality, like a painting come to life. This street just seems to have a life of it's own; a gentle, pulsing vibration that captures your mind, and you know this street is your friend!' List all grade schools, middle schools, high schools and colleges attended. Include name and address of school, years attended, classes taken, color of blackboards, and measurements of all female teachers after eighth grade! List ninety nine personal references, not to include family, friends, relatives, previous employers, or anyone else who knows you, or is suspected of knowing you. Have you, or any members of your family ever had any of the following illnesses. The following illnesses usually includes every disease ever known to man. The only ones missing are death, which usually proves fatal, in which case it's a pretty good bet you wouldn't need the job anyway, and being eaten by the Big Bad Wolf! Are you now or have you ever been a member of any subversive organizations; such as the Communist party (not as popular as it used to be), the Moonies, the American Nazi party, or the Rush Limbaugh fan club. These are just a few, and they want more information all the time in spite of what congress says on the subject. I just hope they don't start asking personal questions!! The music from the stereo is suddenly transformed, each musical note squeezing through the speakers, and dancing up to shake my hand, and I sing and dance right along with them. There's no way to resist it, and no desire to try. The kids are already getting their ball gloves oiled up, and their pitching arms ready for summer. The sounds of basketballs and bicycles and laughter fill the air. The curtains draw themselves open, pulling yellow, green and blue landscape in. The room heaves a great summer sigh of relief, and gulps it's first breath of sun drenched air. My pores open wide and drink up the change of season. They send it churning through my body, depositing it's tingling message from head to toe. The wind wanders lazily through the air, checking to make sure the message of the leaves has missed no one. Everything begins to wake up, forgetting the cautious activity of winter. The trees, the leaves, all of nature, together with you and me, preparing for the happy brotherhood of summer......Hey, I feel good!'
